Winter Break Mini-Camps

The academy will offer two winter break mini-camps to its academy students. Mini-camp #1 will be held at the tennis center on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, December 26-28, from 12 till 2 pm. Mini-camp #2 will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, January 2-4, from 12 till 2 pm. We encourage all those students who will be in town during the holidays to attend! Mini-camp #2 will be a great opportunity for Superchamp kids to prepare for the Major Zone in San Antonio January 5th-8th!

February Tournament Round-up

The academy had some great results for the month of February. At the Austin ZAT, Duncan Davis qualified for the Champs division in Boys 16's by winning the tournament. Matthew Martinez took a big step towards qualification by reaching the semis of the Boys 14's draw. Jeff Bonham and Ruben Vasquez also reached the semis in Boys 16's.

At the Deer Park Champs, Jonathan Hartwell reached the semis of the Boys 18's draw and Zack Gomez lost a tough three setter in the finals of the Boys 16's draw.

The Corpus Christi Supers (16/18) also brought some great results. Maria Babanova, in her first Supers event, won the Girls 18's B draw! Kristina Kinarkina made a strong run to the semis before falling in a tough match to Maria. Lukas Starmach made another tough run in the Boys 16's B draw before falling the finals.

At the Laredo Supers (12/14), Sean Rodriguez and Rachel Baldree both put up some hard fought victories before falling in the main draw quarters of 12's.

Academy welcomes new strength and conditioning coach

The academy would like to welcome Adam Farrell to our staff as the academy's Strength and Conditioning Coach. Adam has tremendous experience in the field of athletic trainging. As the strength and conditioning coach for the academy, Adam’s job is will be to prepare our students for the rigorous year round tennis season. Adam will help our students improve all areas of their physical fitness including strength, conditioning, and agility and quickness. Adam will also instruct on how to maintain a healthy body and prevent sports injuries.
