Winter Nationals

12-30-05

Hey, me again. I played two matches today. My first match I won 6-1, 6-2. I moved my feet really well. I also kept my calm considerably well. My second match I played Connor Faren. In the first set, I was down 0-4. I wasn't playing well, but I kept my calm because I knew I couldn't play that bad forever, and eventually started playing well. I came back and won the set 7-5 and won the second set 6-1. It was one of the best matches I have played not because of the tennis but because of how I behaved and competed. I play at 8 am tomorrow and again at 11 am if I win. Later!

12-29-05

Hey again! I played my third match today. I played Max Lipman. I lost 7-6, 6-1. I was up 5-2 in the first set, but then got nervous because I have lost to him before and now had a chance to get the first set! He really picked up his game towards the end of the first set and throughout the second and ended playing really well. I moved my feet today, but I didn't keep as good a mental attitude as I needed to. My next match is at 8:00 am on Friday! After the match Cory, the Baldree's and I went to see Biosphere 2. It was a really good tour (we'll post pictures when we get back)!
So long for now,
Sean

12-28-05

Hey! Today was my second match in singles. I played Ramy Bekhiet from New Jersey. I won 6-0, 6-2. I played pretty well. I concentrated on moving my feet extra and staying calm. Before every point in the beginning I would do buttkicks to get my feet moving and ready for the point. In my next match I will focus on doing what I did today. For fun today I hung out with some Texas hommies at the resort hotel. We played ping-pong, swam, and played basketball for 7 hours! Later!

12-27-05

Hey, I'm at the Winter Nationals in Tucson, Arizona right now. I played my first match today. I played Jared Hiltzik from the Midwest Section. I lost 6-2, 7-6. I think I didn't move my feet enough. I focused so hard on trying to keep my calm that I didn't focus on moving my feet. Next singles match I will try to focus on moving my feet and keep my calm at the same time. I will try to compete every point. I also played a doubles match today with Eric Tyler from Houston. We lost in a tough three setter 3-6,6-4,5-7. For fun today Cory (by the way Cory is the best coach ever) and I went to the Nike Factory Outlet and bought some stuff. Talk to you tomorrow!
